Getting Started with Chainstr

What is Chainstr?

Chainstr is a video messaging app that lets you create private and public video chains. You can share authentic moments with close friends, family, or connect with a wider community.

How do I create a video chain?

To start a video chain, tap the "Create Chain" button, record your video, and share it with others. You can make the chain private for selected friends or public for everyone.

Can I reply to a video in a chain?

Yes! Simply tap the reply button on any video in the chain to add your own video response.

Privacy and Security

Are my private video chains secure?

Yes. Private video chains are only visible to the people you invite. We prioritize your privacy and use industry-standard encryption to protect your data.

Who can see public video chains?

Public video chains are visible to all Chainstr users, so share thoughtfully!

App Features

What's the difference between private and public chains?

Private chains are for invited friends and family only, while public chains allow anyone on Chainstr to view, reply, and join the conversation.

Can I share videos outside the app?

Yes, you can share individual videos or entire public chains via a link.

How do I delete a video in my chain?

Tap on the video, select the three dots menu, and choose "Delete." Note that deleted videos cannot be recovered.

Technical Support

What devices are supported?

Chainstr works on iOS devices running iOS 16 or later.

How can I update Chainstr to the latest version?

Visit the App Store, search for Chainstr, and tap "Update" if an update is available.

Account and Settings

Can I change my username?

No. Users can't change their username at this time. The username is the first time an account is created.

How do I delete my account?

If you wish to delete your account, go to Profile > Tap on the gear icon in the top right corner > Delete Account. Note that this action is irreversible.

Can I block or report someone?

Yes. Tap on a user's profile, select the three dots menu, and choose "Block" or "Report."
